Connecting nature with everyday life

Biodiversity loss can feel remote or leave people feeling powerless. La Salamandre aims to connect a sense of wonder about the living world with practical actions, combining engaging stories and scientific knowledge.

OurFrame’s contribution

La Salamandre is developing a method with OurFrame to design and evaluate content that encourages action. The support programme connects editorial choices with the changes sought: what audiences understand, what they feel able to do and which behaviours they might adopt to protect biodiversity.

Creating, testing and learning

The programme includes plans for videos, podcasts, newsletters and formats focused on taking action. Comparative tests and an annual impact report are intended to examine effects on attitudes, perceived efficacy and behaviours. These changes are the programme’s objectives; no evaluation findings are presented here at this stage.

Sharing the method

The aim is to embed the method in La Salamandre’s activities over time. Lessons learned are intended to be shared with media and organisations working to protect the living world, contributing to their own approaches.
