OurFrame
We are a production company, a consultancy, a media organisation, a laboratory and a public-interest organisation. All at once.
OurFrame is an independent, nonprofit Swiss media and production organisation. Building on the work of Nous Prod, we bring together media, journalism, science, academia, cinema and philanthropy around a shared goal: changing society through the power of stories.
We work with creators, media organisations, scientific and academic teams, and organisations developing public-interest stories to frame their projects: identifying audiences, the change they seek and the stories that could contribute to it, using a Theory of Change.
We translate the impact strategy into editorial and creative choices, then into production and distribution, in-house or with partners. Each project can draw on several strands of our method.
We work with creative teams and organisations to study the effects of their content. Together, we define the questions, design a suitable protocol and analyse what changes among audiences.
We aim to work with foundations and funders to help them support public-interest stories. This strand is still being developed and is not yet a structured activity.
This approach draws on Theory of Change and psychosocial research to design stories and understand their effects.

A media organisation can know, down to the minute, how long people spend on an article. It knows how many started a video, when they stopped watching and how many shared an excerpt. It knows much less about what those people understood.
